Frequently Asked Questions

Who should attend an Encounter ?

Followers of Christ, who want a fresh anointing in the Person, Presence, Power and Peace of Holy Spirit for fruitfulness in the Body of Christ.

When do Encounters begin?

Encounters begin Friday evening at 7:30 pm and end late Sunday afternoon (approx. 5pm).

Can I attend an Encounter more than once?

Encounters are designed to be attended once. After attending, Encounter alumni return to serve as a part of our team. Encounter alumni often expressed that they received greater blessing, teaching, healing, and overall understanding in returning to serve.

Alumni  may also be interested in the next steps of attending an Enhancement or Enrichment Conference.

What if I cannot attend the entire time?

Encounters are cloistered conferences. It is necessary to attend all aspects of the conference. We encourage guests to arrive on-time and stay until dismissal on Sunday. If you're unable to attend the full conference, we ask that you plan to attend at a later time.

What is the cost of an Encounter in Georgia?

Registration cost is a non refundable minimal fee of $25.

God wants to bless you as you give to the work of the Kingdom of God. As you pray about a donation, ask Holy Spirit what living your life in power and freedom is worth to you.

"Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work."

2 Corinthians 9:7

How can I donate for my Encounter?

Payment is made during registration. You have the option to pay with debit or credit card.

Checks or money can be mailed with completed registration form to:

Holy Spirit Encounter

17 Lake Overlook Drive

White, GA 30184

(please note the Guest/Server name and conference date in the memo)

What are accommodations?

Encounters are held in beautiful Northwest Georgia. Guests and servers are housed in rooms with approximately 4-6 guests in each room. Each room has 3 twin bunk-beds and private bathroom with two sinks and standup shower. Guests and servers should supply their own bed linens and toiletry products (i.e.: towels, shampoo/conditioner, hairdryer, etc).

How should I dress?

We encourage modest, comfortable/casual clothing and shoes. Typical dress is jeans and t-shirts.

Is transportation available?

Transportation is not provided. Guests and servers are responsible for making personal arrangements for transportation to and from the White Columns at Kingston retreat center. This includes coordination for carpooling, as well as pick-up and drop-off at Atlanta area airports/bus stations.

I have a desire to serve on an Encounter!

Serving an Encounter is very rewarding and beneficial. We couldn't do it without your help. Servers are required to have previously attended an Encounter Conference.

How does serving work for teens and adults?

Once an individual has attended an Encounter, they can serve any future encounter, this includes adults serving on teen encounters and teens serving adult encounters. However, when we assign individuals to serve certain roles, adults will have background server positions on teen encounters and teens will have background roles on adult encounters. Therefore, we encourage serving on age specific encounters when available.

How does serving work between men and women?

We encourage men to serve Men's Encounters and women to serve Women's Encounters. However, there is a need for a limited amount of men and women to serve the opposite gender's conferences. We require that that couples serve together on opposite gender's weekends. We ask that you follow Holy Spirit's leading when considering which conference you plan to serve. **teens are not permitted to serve an opposite gender's Encounter**
